Healing

How healing actually works is difficult to explain in terms that we use to describe phenomena using simple physics-based or biology-based models, and without going into quantum biophysics. The following explanation is one that is cited most often and has become a familiar means of describing healing.

There are many forms and styles of healing – for example Faith Healing which requires a belief in prayer and religious devotion to “Energy” type healing that does not rely on religious beliefs as such. These latter forms of healing are more about the transfer of “healing energy” and include Spiritual, Reiki and the more specific types such as Therapeutic Touch, Quantum Touch, etc.

Most, if not all, can be described as “biofield energy healing” or “biofield therapies” in that they are believed to allow the “healer” to channel healing energy (also termed Universal Energy or Divine Energy) through to the person seeking healing.

This healing energy revitalises the person’s inherent energy field …..

-          both within (termed Qi by the Chinese, Ki in Japan and Prana in India), and also …

-          surrounding the person (one’s energy aura) ….

….. in order to bring about beneficial improvement to a person’s ailment.

Much of the healing is done by intent – i.e. with focus on the drive for one person to heal another with different levels of divine consciousness depending on the practitioners belief system.

Most methods require the healer (practioner) to have undergone training (typically 2 years) and to be insured to practice.

The different modes of healing only really differ in the methods employed and the person seeking help should really consider the type of method appropriate to them – the type they seem to resonate and feel comfortable with.

The methods used can include …..

-          hands-on or contact healing when the energies are transferred direct into the physical body;

-          hands-off when the energy is transferred to the aura surrounding the person and thereby influencing physical, emotional and other aspects of the issue;

-          distant healing, or absent healing, where energy is “transmitted” over distance from the healer to the person requiring healing.

Spiritual Healing – is very intuitive healing whereby the practitioner “senses” what or where the issue is and thereby know the most effective place to position the hands for effective healing. Practitioners believe that they are guided by Spirit (souls or spiritual beings that are around us to help us develop our spirituality. These may be e.g. relatives who have passed, Spirit Guides, Angels, etc). Their guidance includes forms of clairsentience, clairaudience and/or clairvoyance enabling the healer to scan a persons aura or physical body either by sensing with the hands, or by “seeing” indications such as coulours within the aura, or just “knowing” where the issue lies. The healing modes may be contact, non-contact and/or distant.

Reiki Healing – requires the practitioner to be attuned to the healing energies to be able to channel the energy to the subject. It is based on the teachings of Usui Mikao

There are three levels of attunement gained over a period of time and conferred by a Master Reiki teacher.

Whatever may seem to bind or limit you,

Declare yourself free from it now.

There is nothing in the outer world,

No person, no condition, no circumstance

That can take away the freedom which is yours in spirit.

Make this a day of freedom, spiritual freedom.

Declare yourself free from anxiety and fear,

Free from any belief in luck or limitation.

by Swami Satyananda Saraswati,

Life is a movement around

an unmoving centre.

The movement and the still centre

are of equal importance, symbolised

by Shakti and Shiva.
